What you will do:
– Lead and manage a team of school staff nurses and support staff, mentoring and guiding them in their roles.
– Deliver the Healthy Child Programme focusing on prevention and early intervention.
– Collaborate with various stakeholders including schools, healthcare providers, and social care professionals.
– Use clinical judgement to assess health needs and provide early interventions. Participate in case conferences and make decisions regarding referrals.
– Facilitate health education sessions for pupils, promoting healthy lifestyles.
– Support vulnerable children and families, working with safeguarding teams.
– Contribute to the development of public health services, ensuring alignment with local and national policies.
Requirements:
– Professional qualification in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) and current NMC registration.
– Experience in working with children, young people, and their families.
– Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, safeguarding practices, and clinical governance.
– Valid driving license and access to a vehicle for work-related travel.
