Global Healthcare Jobs, a dedicated and award-winning recruitment agency has an exciting Permanent opportunity available for an experienced Social Work Principal Manager to join a well-established Adults service based in Merthyr Tydfil.
Team/Specialism: Adult Assessment
Salary: £52,542 – £54,589 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time
Duties:
- Be responsible for delivering the strategic and operational outcomes for the Adult Assessment services
- Care Management for adults and adult mental health
- Initial Support Services including Adult Duty and Community OT
- Adult Safeguarding
- Carers Support
- Leading, planning, recruiting, developing and inspiring others to ensure the effective delivery of the services for which the job holder is directly responsible to achieve strategic outcomes
- Ensure that Managers and their teams have a clear understanding about the Service’s Strategy, Performance Targets and the required standards of practice
- Closely monitor performance, working with colleagues to swiftly highlight and address any negative changes in a way that assures that the service is able to achieve performance agreed targets
- Deputise for the Head of Service as required and directed
- Manage and supervise the allocated Team Managers and service providers in Adult Services and ensure effective staff supervision programmes and to provide temporary management oversight of the work of other Principal Managers if they are absent from work
- Contribute to the arrangements for accounting to elected members, including the attendance at boards and committees and the preparation of and presentation of reports
- Maximising the use of resources and monitoring the effectiveness of the use of those resources in pursuit of delivering the services aims, objectives and priorities
Requirements of the Principal Manager:
- Social Work or related health qualification
- Current Social Work England registration
- The ability to communicate with diverse staff groups
- Ability to establish, monitor and control operational budgets
- Ability to establish and maintain systems of performance management and quality assurance
- IT literate (use of Teams for meetings purposes)
- Experience of managing an Adult team or equivalent Service
- Experience of successful partnership working with other agencies
- Experience of managing change in organisational activities and in establishing strategies to guide activity
- Evidence of successful budgetary management
- Experience of working within the Adut Safeguarding requirements
- Car driver with business insurance cover
