Global Healthcare Jobs, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Social Worker within the Life Planning Team to work full time based in Barking & Dagenham.
The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is up to £46,041 per annum.
Main duties:
- To act as a social worker providing effective social work services to children and young people with disabilities and their families and carers, with the purpose of safeguarding them, promoting their welfare, wellbeing and independence, respecting their dignity and choice, and aiming to prevent, reduce or delay the need for care and support.
- Formulating and progressing care plans in line with national and local procedures.
- Ensuring that the health and education needs of all children in care are met in accordance with National Standards.
- Ensuring that all procedural requirements with respect to reviewing, consultation and recording are adhered to.
- To support the development of systemic practice across the Children’s Social Care Division.
- To carry a caseload of the most complex cases including complex safeguarding enquiries, complex family proceedings and children deemed to be at high risk of significant harm.
- Demonstrate the ability to record to a high standard capturing the voice of the child showing evidence of analysis and reflection throughout.
- Provide support and mentoring to less experienced colleagues.
- Work within the London Child Protection procedures to undertake key work responsibilities for children subject to a child protection plan.
- Deputise for the Consultant Social Worker where required.
- Identify appropriate systems of support with service users, families and carers to enable them to maintain and improve their quality of life to function as independently as possible.
- Maintain high standards of record keeping on the Council’s electronic systems, ensuring that all information is timely, accurate and complete to ensure the service meets all statutory recording requirements.
- Actively participate in line management and professional supervision, team meetings, and performance management processes to further develop and improve the service we offer to residents.
Requirements of this role:
- A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
- Understanding of relevant legislation.
- Registered or eligible for registration.
- This post requires registration with the relevant health professional council/governing body (Social Care England).
