Global Healthcare Jobs, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Service Manager within the Children in Need Team to work full time based in Guernsey.

The salary for this permanent Service Manager job is up to £81,217 per annum.

Main duties:

  • To have senior management responsibility of Children in Need services which include the Children in Need Team, Children’s Disability Services and Speech & Language Therapy. The post holder will also take the lead on coordinating and overseeing the Children’s Disability pathway in order to establish collaborative approaches to supporting children with additional needs.
  • To have responsibility for business planning, service delivery and development in alignment with strategic objectives, including the Children and Young People’s Plan and the United Convention on the Rights of the Child.
  • To develop and implement policies, procedures, thresholds, practice frameworks and protocols across all areas of the Children in Need service area.
  • Charing of professional meetings as required for the Service, including legal planning meetings where required.
  • To be responsible for ensuring that all children and young people receiving a service have had their needs assessed and a plan for intervention is in place and reviewed within appropriate timescales.
  • To have responsibility for the budget within the service area and to ensure good financial monitoring to achieve best value for children and families.
  • To have responsibility for key managers supervision, professional development and appraisal.
  • To have responsibility for performance management ensuring that all work is carried out to Service Standards.
  • To have responsibility for the recruitment and retention of key managers and other key personnel.
  • To have responsibility to ensure that all work undertaken across the service areas is underpinned by Health and Social Care Policies and Social Work England Professional Standards.
  • To work in an anti-oppressive manner.
  • Provide timely and accurate information to ensure staff are aware of the recommendations audit processes and ensure effective action plans are formulated to meet these recommendations.
  • To keep abreast of research evidence, which may impact on practice and be motivated to change own practice according to such evidence. Influence others to change practice according to need.

Requirements of this Service Manager job:

  • A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Continual professional development.
  • Social Work England registered.
