Global Healthcare Jobs, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Practice Manager within the Child Protection Assessment Team to work full time based in Redbridge.
The salary for this permanent Practice Manager job is up to £57,975 per annum.
Main duties:
- Make decisions in relation to care planning of both child protection, adoption and fostering and looked after teams.
- Ensuring the effective running of the pod by allocating cases, provide case direction/regular oversight on cases to ensure that the child or young person’s needs are met appropriately.
- Provide supervision both formally and situationally to ensure safeguarding is maintained whilst developing and encouraging high professional practice standards supervision and development of individual staff. This will include appropriate challenge and support to ensure the high quality of services which safeguard children and young people.
- To contribute towards and support the development of best practice, policies and procedures within the operational team.
- Undertake regular reviews and audits of cases to ensure the effective case planning to allow for timely escalation of cases and quality assurance.
- Undertake quality assurance of cases to support professional development of staff and improved the consistency of practice.
- To chair case meetings, review, planning, strategy discussions and other professional/network meetings and workshops to ensure care plans are in the best interests and safety of the child.
- To provide cover for the work of other Practice Managers as required and arrange cover for other team members across the service when necessary. Including being available to social workers post 5pm as first point of call for emergency.
- To implement effective performance management for all staff and provide regular support and supervision, including annual performance reviews to directly managed staff. Ensuring that statutory duties are undertaken in line with key performance targets; to operate within local performance framework and to strive to improve team performance.
- To represent the Team Manager at internal and external meetings where appropriate and to deputise for the Team Manager.
- To participate fully in the development and maintenance of effective liaison and co-operation with the local community, community group and other statutory/voluntary organisations.
- To ensure that decision making in all children’s matters is undertaken in accordance with legislation, local procedures and best practice.
Requirements of this Practice Manager job:
- Social work qualification with registration with Social Work England.
- Experience in managing social work caseloads and supervising others.
- Experience of community and/or group work.
- Knowledge of children’s health and social care systems, agencies, and relevant legislation.
- Management and leadership training and qualification Appropriate post qualifying and practice assessor qualification.
