Global Healthcare Jobs, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Social Worker within the Adoption Team to work full time based in Surrey.

The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is up to £40,146 per annum.

Main duties:

  • Adoption South East (ASE) is a highly regarded regional adoption agency that operates on behalf of four local authorities: Surrey, West Sussex, East Sussex, and Brighton & Hove. As a partnership-driven organisation, ASE implements a ‘hub and spoke’ model, with a central hub located in Lewis, East Sussex and additional offers in each local authority. Our dedicated team works collaboratively to provide exceptional adoption services in the region.
  • We are currently looking for a passionate Social Worker to join our Surrey office, who will hold adoption cases through stage 2 to adoption order. The team also offers family finding and adoption support services in which you would participate, as well as being part of our daily duty rota.
  • Staff are all employed on local terms and conditions, and in this instance, you would be employed by Surrey County Council with a case at Quadrant Court in Woking.   • Take professional responsibility as directed for managing a caseload which will include individuals, children, families and carers who require support and guidance. Enable them to identify their needs and plans support to meet those needs using the full range of options, seeking advice and support where appropriate.
  • Demonstrate confident and effective judgement about risk and accountability in decision making.
  • Use assessment procedures discerningly in response to the presenting needs and to ensure that a proportionate assessment is completed in a way that enables maximum participation.
  • Provide information, advice and guidance in line with current national and to recognise the need for, and appropriately signpost to other agencies, services or providers.
  • Understand the forums of harm and their impact on people and be able to identify safeguarding concerns.
  • Where relevant and with support undertake assessment and planning for safeguarding.
  • Share and present professional knowledge and expertise with colleagues within the team.
  • When appropriate provide professional reflective supervision to staff who are not professionally qualified.
  • Take professional and personal responsibility for clear recording of analysis and judgements, maintaining up to date case work records on the database as required by Surrey.
  • Take responsibility for working within the Directorate’s data protection policies.

Requirements of this role:

  • Social work qualification with registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience in managing social work caseloads and supervising others.
  • Experience of community and/or group work.
  • Knowledge of children’s health and social care systems, agencies, and relevant legislation.
