Global Healthcare Jobs, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Team Manager within the MASH Team to work full time based in Guernsey.

The salary for this permanent Team Manager job is up to £74,269 per annum.

Main duties:

  • Coordinate the routine activities of professionals working within the MASH so new referrals are reviewed in a timely manner.
  • To facilitate MASH meetings as required with partner agencies this will include information sharing discussions and reviews regarding Children in Need and Children in Need of Protection. This will also incorporate other multi-agency discussions such as Child Protection Strategy discussions.
  • Use the collected information to risk assess cases according to level of risk and need and decide the most appropriate intervention for the child’s identified needs.
  • Routinely monitor the quality and effectiveness of information sharing and professional judgement about the appropriate response to children whose needs require either early help or social work led assessment and support.
  • Provide line management and professional supervision to the Social Care Professionals within the MASH Team, in addition to performance and development activities so that staff are able to provide a good and improving quality of service.
  • Provide support and challenge to professionals about the reasons for their decisions and model sound professional practice and evidence based decision making.
  • Lead recruitment, induction, supervision and appraisal of service personnel in accordance with the policies and procedures relating to their terms and conditions, providing effective leadership and regular and appropriate communication.
  • Encourage and support practitioners to gain the skills, knowledge, attitudes and behaviours that will enable them to actively support each child, young person, young adult and family to achieve their potential.
  • Model behaviours that encourage reflective practice, professional confidence and sound decision making.
  • Communicate and liaise with other agencies, which involves giving and receiving highly complex and sensitive information.
  • Give specialist advice to staff, which includes clinical supervision, individual case advice, professional responsibilities, guidelines and legal requirements.
  • Provide leadership and support in the planning and delivery of services.
  • Lead and develop a multi-agency/disciplinary team, which supports collaborative working across health, social care and education and other stakeholders in the statutory and voluntary sector.

Requirements of the Team Manager:

  • CQSW, DipSW, BA Social Work of equivalent professional qualification.
  • At least 1 years’ experience of supervising professional staff.
  • Knowledge of relevant childcare legislation.
  • Ability to travel independently to all required areas by the job’s responsibilities.
