Global Healthcare Jobs, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for an experienced Senior Practitioner to work within Fostering Team to work full time based in Southend.

The salary for this permanent Senior Practitioner job is up to £44,863 annum.

Main duties:

  • To provide an efficient and cost-effective service to children, young people and their families, ensuring that the needs of the children and their parents/carers are professionally assessed.
  • To provide consolation on casework and contribute to the development of colleagues within the team and where appropriate the wider service by virtue of being an experienced and reliable practitioner.
  • To undertake responsibility for some area of work in the day to day running of the team and supervision of team members.
  • To be familiar with Equal Opportunities good practice and the Council requirements for diversity and to implement this in all aspects of working practice and promote it in the team, workplace, and wider organisation.
  • To investigate, evaluate and analyse information on cases, demonstrating clarity of assessment, reliability of information, evidence, conclusions, and realistic action plans. Ensure adequate recording that evidence practice.
  • To ensure that all case management complies with the statutory requirements and the Councils policies and procedures.
  • To identify service enhancements and support the culture of continuous improvement.
  • To prepare and submit written reports as and when required, including statements and care plans for care proceeding sin the Family Proceedings, County and High Courts.
  • Where appropriate acting as the duty worker, responding to queries and issues on all cases currently being managed by the team.
  • To supervise social workers as required and to deputise for the Team Manager in all or some of their functions as required in their absence.
  • To ensure the Team Manager is kept fully apprised of problems arising from workload and seek advice as and when necessary.

Requirements of this Senior Practitioner job:

  • A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Continual professional development.
  • Social Work England registered.
