Global Healthcare Jobs, a dedicated and award-winning recruitment agency looking for an experienced and dedicated Adults Occupational Therapist to work in Epsom on a part-time basis (18 hours per week).

The salary for this permanent Adults Occupational Therapist job is £39,355 per annum.

Duties:

  • Become an integral part of a team that supports people to achieve good outcomes by focusing on personalisation and a recovery-focused strengths-based approach
  • Undertaking occupational therapy assessments and reviews of existing and new cases
  • Manage your own caseload and arrange and attend home visits accordingly
  • Be responsible for the completion and recording of Section 9 Adult Social Care Assessments on our client database, and in some instances will update the client’s Support Plan to reflect the outcome of the assessment
  • Undertake the completion of Moving and Handling Assessments following the appropriate training, and the completion of Major Adaptation Reports, along with referrals to all relevant Housing Associations
  • Facilitating the Disabled Facilities Grant process and working with the Home Improvements Agency to ascertain the potential costs, feasibility and practicality of the works requested
  • Working with the surveyors to look at the structure of the property
  • Have a shared responsibility for the screening and progressing of new referrals to the team via our duty function, which will be organised on a rota basis

Requirements of the Adults Occupational Therapist:

  • Able to analyse information and set interventions for the people you assess to help them meet goals they have identified and order equipment for clients using the equipment ordering service, with training provided
  • Experience of working within a social care or community focussed multi-disciplinary setting that provides care, support and advice to meet people’s long-term needs
  • Ability to complete person-centred and proportionate OT assessments including moving and handling risk assessments
  • Knowledge of medical conditions and the likely impact on the individual and the ability to demonstrable knowledge of the impact of long-term disability on the individual, carer and family
  • Knowledge of current legislation, including the Care Act and the Mental Capacity Act and its application to practice in a social care setting
  • Commitment to your own professional development
  • Must have and maintain current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • A car driver, with access to a car
