Contract Type: Locum ongoing contract
Pay Rate: £25 per hour (assignment rate)

Duties of the Occupational Therapist:
- To provide a high standard of clinical work to patients with a Neurological diagnosis.
- This will include assessment work, group work, individual treatment planning, evaluation and discharge planning.
- To assist individuals, where appropriate, to perform activities of daily living within the rehabilitation programme e.g. toileting.
- To work closely with other members of the multi disciplinary team to ensure patients receive a co-ordinated package of rehabilitation that is delivered in an efficient and timely manner.
- To use effective professional interpersonal skills when discussing assessment and intervention with patients and carers with different levels of comprehension.
- To refer individuals on to other professionals and agencies as appropriate to their need (e.g. Social Services) To act as an advocate for patients and provide support and advice to their family and carers as appropriate. To liaise closely with other professionals involved in patient care across Doncaster and surrounding areas regarding clinical issues.
- To follow all Trust policies and protocols. To work with direct supervision and take responsibility for managing own time and caseload and prioritising work within it.
- To deliver clinical work within a variety of settings e.g. patient’s home, clinics and community settings and abide by rules and regulations pertinent to those settings.
To assess for and arrange provision of assistive equipment appropriate to patient need ensuring: Individual patients and carers are trained in the safe use of the equipment; Paid care staff are informed of the provision of moving and handling equipment and appropriate documentation is completed.
Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:
- Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
- Recent UK experience working as an Occupational Therapist
- Recent NHS experience
- Registered with the HCPC
