Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Contract Type: Locum ongoing contract
Pay Rate: £33.62 per hour (assignment rate)

Duties of the Occupational Therapist:
- To make individual home visits to assess needs.
- To discuss with clients and carers to support and advise on appropriate action.
- To liaise with appropriate professionals and agencies to gather specialist information.
- To have up to date knowledge of daily living equipment and be proficient in the instruction and demonstration of this equipment.
- To teach and develop daily living skills to enable Service Users to attain maximum functional independence.
- To recommend, design and monitor the process for provision of adaptations in consultation with the service user.
- To attend and participate in case discussions, case conferences and meetings.
- To maintain accurate professional records, access information systems, write letters and report.
- To maintain and improve links with teams in Social Care.
- To assist in professional projects to improve the profile of Occupational Therapists to other professionals, Departments, agencies and general public.
- To understand and implement Departmental procedures and policy.
- To be able to collate information and relay to appropriate person/team/agency.
- To keep up to date with legislative change and professional Occupational Therapy practice.
- To take an active part in team development.
- To assist in giving and attend lectures, demonstrations and talks as appropriate to the profession.
- To be involved in the guidance and support of other members of staff and to attend regular supervisory sessions with the Supervising Officer.
- With support from the Supervising Officer, be involved in the training of students from all disciplines.
- To be aware of Health and Safety Regulations.
Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:
- Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
- Recent experience working as an Occupational Therapist
- Recent NHS experience
- Registered with the HCPC
