Global Healthcare Jobs, a dedicated and award-winning recruitment agency looking for an experienced and dedicated Band 5/6 Senior Theatre Practitioner (RGN/ODP) to work in Guernsey on a full-time basis.

The salary for this permanent Senior Theatre Practitioner job is £36,899 – £59,343 per annum.

Duties:

  • Assist newly appointed nursing staff to progress to the same level of competence
  • Be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care for patients
  • Deliver care in accordance with current ward philosophy
  • Adhere to policies, procedures and guidelines contained within the Health and Social Services Policy Folders
  • Under the direction of the nurse in charge regularly act as ward co-ordinator
  • Take charge of the ward and supervise nursing staff on a regular basis
  • Act as a clinical supervisor and preceptor to develop skills of first and second level nurses, and nursing auxiliaries
  • Act as a key figure in assisting new staff complete orientation and induction programmes

Requirements of the Senior Theatre Practitioner:

  • Able to supervise and participate in the professional and skills development of qualified and unqualified nursing staff
  • Understand and adhere to the principles contained within the ward philosophy
  • Show awareness and work towards meeting the agreed aims and objectives of the ward
  • Be conversant with and adhere to Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Professional Conduct
  • Current first level registration with the NMC
  • Experience co-ordinating ward activities, delegating appropriately
  • Evidence of effective communication skills; with particular reference to Multidisciplinary team working, service users, carers and managers
  • Evidence of self and professional development
  • RGN or RODP
  • Completed Core competencies at band 5 level
  • Evidence of CPD at diploma level
  • Mentorship award
  • Paediatric experience for Paediatric lead
  • Evidence of Teaching/Assessing & Mentorship experience
  • Leadership Course
  • A1 or NVQ 32/33
  • Evidence of being a resource to others
