Global Healthcare Jobs, a dedicated and award-winning recruitment agency is looking for a IRC Pharmacy Technician to work full-time based at Consett. This role will be based at multiple sites.
Rates (Assignment rate): £32.50 – £35.00 Per hour
Contract: Ongoing contract

Duties:
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse-led service and prevent hospital admissions
- Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, undertake reception screening, and offer clinics such as triage, long-term conditions, suturing, wound care, ear irrigation, and sexual health
- Run health promotion / harm-minimisation clinics in specific disease-related areas
- Ensure that clinics run smoothly and meet national and local priorities and guidelines
- Respond to medical emergencies as an emergency responder, co-ordinating care, and providing primary clinical care of a high standard to patients
- Deliver a high standard of clinical care in the primary care, emergency care, harm minimisation, health promotion and occupational health remits of prison healthcare; within the extent of your role, experience and level of expertise
- Undertake initial and follow-up individual health assessments at reception and health screening, referring to appropriate guidelines
- Assist the development of evidence-based nursing procedures / protocols in the prison setting
- Identify shortfalls in stock levels / failure of equipment and liaise with the senior supervisor on duty to arrange replenishment
Requirements of the IRC Pharmacy Technician:
- Must be registered on the GPHC/must have a relevant qualification in pharmacy
- Prison clearance – ideally yes, but not essential
