Global Healthcare Jobs, a dedicated and award-winning recruitment agency looking for an experienced and dedicated Deputy Sister Charge Nurse (Band 6) to work in Guernsey (De Sausmarez Ward) on a full-time basis.

The salary for this permanent Deputy Sister Charge Nurse job is £43,160 – £50,030 per annum.

We offer a full relocation package which includes interview and relocation travel, this is in addition to our competitive pay, annual bonus and our additional bonus scheme of £3,000, payable after two and four years.

Summary:

The Deputy Sister/Charge nurse will undertake the management of De Sausmarez Ward on a day-to-day basis in conjunction with the Senior Sister/Charge nurse. Providing clinical leadership. Supporting colleagues to plan, monitor and evaluate skilled and appropriate care for their patients and ensure the provision of evidence-based care. The Deputy Sister/Charge nurse must act as a role model in providing specialist knowledge within De Sausmarez Ward. Working as part of a team supporting and developing colleagues by mentoring and assessing their skills.

Main duties:

  • Support and assist the ward manager to provide continuing responsibility for the ward.
  • Support and assist the ward manager to monitor performance and manage the nursing staff in areas of responsibility, ensuring all employment records are locally maintained and current in the absence of the ward manager.
  • Support the ward manager in achieving set key performance indicators for the ward/unit.Support and assist the ward manager to ensure that all staff update mandatory training and appraisals are completed in a timely manner.
  • Deputise for the ward manager at meetings and forums when required.
  • Actively take part in and support Directorate initiatives and issues.

Requirements of the Deputy Sister Charge Nurse:

  • Nursing degree or equivalent
  • Current NMC Registration
  • Current/Recent UK Nursing experience
  • Proven ability to contribute to the development of specialist protocols and practice changes arising from audits and adhere to all HSC policies and procedures.
