Global Healthcare Jobs, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Staff Nurse (Band 5) – Residetial Home  to work full time based in a in Guernsey.

The salary for this permanent job is up to £44,981

The role of the Staff Nurse is to co-ordinate the management of the Ward in the absence of another Registered Nurse and will have responsibility for ensuring that best practice is adopted to maintain high standard of care. Assisting service users with all activities of daily living is a core component of this role. Care will be individualised to each service users’ needs and will be delivered in a dignified and compassionate manner at all time.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To carry overall responsibility and management of the home as delegated by the Operations and Home Manager.
  • To evaluate and implement care after due consultation with all professional colleagues.
  • To provide and maintain a warm, caring and safe home environment for residents, which is conducive to the physical, psychological and spiritual well-being of the residents as outlined in the philosophy of the Home.
  • To assist new starters in post along with assisting and monitoring their induction training.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Registered Nurse.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Be able to work in a confident and calm manner but seek guidance when appropriate.
  • To have a good understanding of the English language both verbal and written.
  • Have clear concise communication skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and deal with challenging situations calmly.
  • Able to lead and assist in the development of more junior members of staff.
  • Caring and empathetic.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise own workload.
  • Understanding and ability to apply evidence based care.
  • Evidence of self and professional development
