Global Healthcare Jobs, a dedicated and award-winning recruitment agency looking for an experienced and dedicated Band 6 Prison Senior Staff Nurse to work in Guernsey on a full-time basis.

The salary for this permanent Prison Senior Staff Nurse job is £43,954 – £59,343 per annum.

Duties:

  • Be responsible for the delivery of high quality primary health care to service users
  • Follow a focussed model of care that promotes close team work, and liaison/partnership with acute, community, mental health services and all other agencies as required
  • Act as a role model to peers and junior team members
  • Support the Prison Healthcare Manager in managing the Healthcare Department, including line management of junior staff
  • Mentor and support junior staff

Requirements of the Prison Senior Staff Nurse:

  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge and competence in working with service users who have moderate as well as emergency and enduring health problems
  • Be competent, non-judgemental and empathic when working with service users who have health problems and will coordinate the clinical management of service users
  • Registered General Nurse and / or Registered Mental Health Nurse
  • Diploma/Degree in a related field 
  • Evidence of CPD at Diploma
  • Portfolio evidence to meet agreed competence criteria at Band 6 level
  • Experience working in primary care 
  • Evidence of working with a wide range of professionals and the ability to work autonomously and independently
  • Evidence of effective communication/interpersonal skills and the ability to form positive working relationships with service users/carers and colleagues
  • Evidence of enthusiasm/motivation for this role and use of initiative to make a positive contribution to improving the quality of service delivery
