Global Healthcare Jobs, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Residential Treatment Gambling Therapist to work full time in a Gambling Addiction Service based in Dudley.

The salary for this permanent position is up to £37,371 per annum.

This organisation is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to providing residential treatment and support for gambling addiction, through recovery in a safe, supported environment.

Main Duties:

  • To provide appropriate recovery-focused therapeutic advice and support to assist residents in addressing their gambling problems and achieving their goals in line with the organisation’s Residential Program.
  • To support residents through structured one-to-one, group-work interventions, and activities using a range of therapeutic approaches, including CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness and Person-Centered techniques
  • To undertake assessments on need, continuous risk assessment and use assessments to inform session planning
  • To manage a caseload of residents and keep clear up to date records of their progress and needs, interventions provided, and any issues dealt with within our case management system
  • To empower residents in identifying goals to meet their wider health and social care needs, including mental health, debt, family issues etc., assisting with signposting and referrals as necessary
  • To work collaboratively with support coordinators to provide specific advice and guidance around money management, budgeting and debt advice, and signposting to external agencies as required, in liaison with the Centre Manager and Outreach Support Coordinator
  • To support the provision of online group support under the direction of the Centre Manager
  • To support the review and development of the Program through evaluation, continuous improvement and development of new initiatives and interventions
  • To ensure prompt identification, reporting and management of any risks, incidents, safeguarding following due processes

Requirements:

  • Educated to Diploma level in Counselling BACP or equivalent
  • CBT and/or Motivational Interviewing training and/or relevant qualification
  • Case management experience with an understanding and application of risk, incident and safeguarding processes
  • Experience in planning and facilitating structured group work with vulnerable and challenging groups
  • Experience working in a therapeutic environment/service, ideally with an addiction
  • Ability to manage crises and work flexibly to meet presenting needs within a remote location
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and willingness to develop
