Global Healthcare Jobs, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Night Care Assistant to work part time based in King’s Lynn.
The salary for this permanent Night Care Assistant job is up to £24,054 per annum (pro-rata).
Main duties:
- With the back-up of another member of staff, who will either be sleeping in or an additional waking member of staff, you will work as part of a small team to attend to the personal and emotional needs of young people
- In view of the nature of the work, no information concerning young people must be communicated to anyone who is not either employed by the Department or attending the young person in a professional capacity
- To undertake tasks assisting in personal care assisting young people, helping them get to bed and getting them up in the morning, dressing
- To undertake periodic checks on the young people throughout the night and ensure as far as possible that they are comfortable
- To be observant of any changes in young people’s physical condition and/or mental behaviour and to report such changes to the shift leader
- To be aware of any special diets and have a general knowledge of the importance of a healthy diet

- To understand and respect the young people’s privacy, dignity and confidentiality
- To respond appropriately to calls from young people
- To undertake domestic duties as required
- To monitor the safety and security of the home
- To attend meetings and participate in departmental and in house ‘training’ programmes
- To ensure that services are provided in accordance with departmental standards and objectives of quality assurance
Requirements of this job:
- Desirable to have basic training in care of young people
- Desirable to have Level 3 NVQ Childcare or equivalent
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- An understanding of the needs of looked after young people
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, legislation and statutory guidance
- An understanding of intervention strategies
