Global Healthcare Jobs, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Registered Manager to work full time based in a Children’s home in Birmingham

The salary for this permanent Registered Manager job is up to £55,000

Main Duties:

  • To ensure that the overall aims, objectives and philosophy of the service are achieved through the maintenance of good quality practice in Residential Social Work
  • To ensure that practice responds to and is pro-active to the changes in the Residential Child Care, Social Work and Educational climate and meets any requirements in legislations
  • To provide Residential Care to a high standard, this meets best practice and exceeds it whenever possible
  • To contribute to the provision of a quality service to ensure consistent occupancy levels to promote the on-going viability and development of the resource
  • To operate as cost effectively as possible while still achieving the quality objective
  • To adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems
  • To cooperate with the service in complying with relevant health and safety legislation, policies and procedures in the performance of the duties of the post
  • To carry out the duties and responsibilities of the post in compliance with the service equal opportunities policies
  • To maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate
  • To coordinate and chair monthly staff meetings, as well as weekly management team meetings.
  • – To take an active part and primary role in maintain the physical standard of the environment.
  • – To effectively communicate to all staff the aims and personal objectives of the home through verbal and written communication and by personal example.
  • To provide supervision and ensure that a model of supervision is offered to all staff as per the schedule of supervision.
  • – To take a lead on the Quality Assurance system and submission of monthly reports in respect of the physical environment and maintenance of recording systems.
  • To design, develop and evaluate individual placement plans to ensure that these are revised as necessary through progress reviews and action planning.

Requirements of this job:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or working towards this qualification or willingness to start
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working within Children’s residential care
  • Ability to show leadership skills
  • Experience of managing budgets
  • Direct involvement in Ofsted inspections
