Job Description
Global Healthcare Jobs, a dedicated and award-winning recruitment agency looking for an experienced and dedicated Community Nurse to work in Newport, Isle of Wighton a full-time basis.
The salary for this permanent Community Nurse job is £28,407 – £34,581 per annum.
Main Duties:
- To observe confidentiality of all information, adhering to the legal requirements of the Data Protection Act and Trust information sharing policies.
- Accurately maintain written and electronic records, work returns and statistics, submitting data and claim forms as required and within specified time-scales.
- Communicate with relatives/carers of patients, in liaison with the District Nurse Team Leader, offering support and guidance as necessary.
- Participate in team meetings and other professional meetings/groups as requested
- Instigate/ participate in the assessment, implementation and evaluation of care as part of an Integrated Locality Service.Ensure that contemporaneous patient records(including clinical observations)are maintained, allpaperentries dated,timed and signedand electronic records attributable to yourself.
- When a need for nursing aid or equipment is highlighted ensure where possible the required equipment is provided and, where this cannot be achieved, notify the District Nurse Team Leader ortheir deputy.
- Always ensure patients, families or carers are instructed in safe use of equipment, who to contact if problems arise, and who to return it to when it is no longer required.
- Ensure instruction books are left with all equipment.
- Participate in the informal teaching of patients/carers as part of a patient care plan or to meet patient need.
- Participate in the induction of new staff and other training programmes at the request of the District Nurse Team Leader.
- To undertake a work rotation,as agreed withthe District Nurse Team Leader,in the Emergency Department and Medical Assessment Unit.
- Assist with the assessment of Continuing Health Care under the direction of the Case Manager.
Requirements of the Community Nurse:
- Registered nurse with current NMC registration
- Awareness of current issues in community nursing
- Clinically up-to-date
- Knowledge of the principles of manual handling and blood borne disease
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehcile
