Global Healthcare Jobsnel, a dedicated and award-winning recruitment agency looking for an experienced and dedicated CT/MRI – Cross Sectional Specialist Radiographer to work in Guernsey on a full-time basis.

The salary for this permanent CT/MRI – Cross Sectional Specialist Radiographer job is £43,954 – £59,343 per annum.

Main Duties:

  • To individually assess and justify a range of diagnostic examinations under the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposures) Regulations (IR(ME)R) 2000 using appropriate Practitioner Guidelines.
  • To perform a range of diagnostic imaging examinations and provide care for patients during these examinations, respecting the rights of privacy and confidentiality, and to evaluate the clinical quality of the images produced.
  • To produce high quality images, including any digital image post processing required, on all examinations.
  • Updating records on CRIS and Centricity and ensuring PACS/CRIS processes are implemented in line with IR(ME)R, professional and local guidelines
  • To offer clinical advice on images through A&E and GP fast tracks using the red dot indication system. 
  • To maintain high standards of radiation protection being aware of the local rules and systems of work in each relevant area.To ensure that all appropriate documentation of patient attendance is complete and accurate, including patient identity, pregnancy status and radiation doses.
  • To continue to develop through CPD and by role expansion as appropriate and to undertake all mandatorytraining as appropriate and in a timely manner. To record all training and development in a portfolio of continuing professional development.
  • To be involved in clinical audits, quality assurance and quality control programmes as required
  • To assist in the instructionand supervisionof newly qualified radiographers,student radiographers, assistant practitioners and other staff where appropriate.
  • To report any untoward incidents involving patients, staff or equipment to the Modality Lead Radiographer or directly to the Section Lead as soon as possible and in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Adhere to all HSSD and Directorate Policies and procedures and Health and Safety and Risk Management.
  • Particular reference to IR(ME)R2000, ensuring full compliance in own work, other staff members and within the work area assigned to.

 

Requirements of the CT/MRI – Cross Sectional Specialist Radiographer:

  • DCR or BSc in Diagnostic Radiography.HCPCRegistration.
  • Minimum 2 years relevant clinicalandpost graduate radiography experiencein specialist area to includeCT/MRI,(and/or)NM(and/or)Mammography.
  • Possess wide range of generaland crosssectionalradiographic skills.
  • Practical training in a wide range of general radiographic skills.
  • Practical training in Xray/CT/MRI (and/or)Nuclear Medicine(and/or) Breast Imaging
  • Demonstrable evidence of continued Audit and CPD.
  • Aknowledge of: Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Clinical Audit, Radiation Protection (including IR(ME)R 2000), Radiology based IT systems i.e. PACS and RIS
  • Full UK driving licenec asn access to own vehicle
