Global Healthcare Jobs, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Deputy Team Manager within the Short break Service Team to work full time based in Guernsey.
The salary for this permanent Deputy Team Manager job is up to £56,090 per annum.
Main duties:
- To work with the Team Manager to support the management and safe and effective delivery of services within Supporting Families and Strong Families.
- Ensure direction, alignment and commitment within their own practice, and that of their team with project objectives, in order to help children, young people and families aspire to do their best and achieve sustainable change.
- Assist the Team Manger in building and leading a team that is capable and confident in their ability to deliver services on an intensive and outcome focussed basis, manage resources and lead new approaches to working practices that deliver improved outcomes and put the child young person, young adult or family at the centre of practice.
- Encourage and support practitioners to gain he skills, knowledge attitudes and behaviours that will enable them to actively support each child, young person, young adult and family to achieve their potential in line with the team brief.
- Inform and improve practice by taking into account and acting on research and developments in relation to the ways in which the needs of children, young people and families are best met.
- Commitment to the development of relationship based practice to enable practitioners to engage with and intervene in the complexity of an individual’s internal and external worlds and to understand that this relationship is recognised to be an important source of information for the worker to understand how best to help, and simultaneously this relationship is the means by which any help or intervention is offered.
- Work on a multi-agency basis with a range of professionals, from a wide range of backgrounds across the islands, in order to identify and address barriers to family success and to improve outcomes for those families.
- To provide management and supervision of the Emergency Out of Hour’s Social Work Service on a rota basis with other Managers in the Directorate.
Requirements of this role:
- Social work qualification with registration with Social Work England.
- Experience in managing social work caseloads and supervising others.
- Experience of community and/or group work.
- Knowledge of children’s health and social care systems, agencies, and relevant legislation.
