Location: Solihull

Contract Type: Locum, Ongoing and full-time

Occupational Therapist Pay Rate: £34 per hour (assignment rate)

Duties of the Social Services Occupational Therapist:

  • To be responsible for providing specialist occupational therapy support to staff, people, formal and informal carers. To participate in project work and to be responsible for a range of liaison functions.
  • Make individual home visits to assess people’s needs in accordance with current legislation and anti-discriminatory practice, promoting a strengths based approach and ensuring demonstrable person-centred outcomes.
  • To identify and engage with positive risk-taking to enable people to achieve their full potential to reach their chosen goals, participate fully in life. To be responsible for supporting mental capacity and/or best interest decisions, subject to legal and ethical parameters.
  • Organising any necessary property adaptations with the appropriate involvement of other agencies and to recommend, design and monitor the process for the provision of adaptations.

Requirements of the Social Services Occupational Therapist:

  • Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
  • Recent experience working as an Occupational Therapist
  • Recent experience within social services / local authority / council
  • Registered with the HCPC
  • Car driver essential
  • Experience working within a reablement setting is ideal
