Global Healthcare Jobs, a dedicated and award-winning recruitment agency looking for an experienced and dedicated Band 6 Acute Specialist Physiotherapist to work in Isle of Wight on a full-time basis.

The salary for this permanent Acute Specialist Physiotherapist job is £35,392 – £42,618 per annum.

Duties:

  • Provide a high standard of physiotherapy across the acute inpatient setting including, but not restricted to, Emergency Department, Acute wards and critical care as part of a rotational programme with other acute band 6 Physiotherapists
  • Manage a caseload of patients with varying diagnosis and/or complex needs, using evidence based/patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in a defined clinical area
  • Act as a source of expertise on the management of medical and surgical conditions across the Trust and wider healthcare community, working collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary and management teams
  • Act as a resource and support to a wide range of other disciplines, agencies and carers by developing specialist knowledge and skills, including contribution to education and research programmes as required
  • Act at all times in the best interest of the patients under your care

Requirements of the Acute Specialist Physiotherapist:

  • Be able to manage potentially stressful, upsetting or emotional situations in an empathetic manner
  • Demonstrate accurate autonomous decision making with complex situations in pressured situations
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of clinical governance and to demonstrate the use of treatment plans with an evidence-based link
  • Demonstrate physical ability to carry out physiotherapy assessment and interventions, including highly developed manual physiotherapy techniques and therapeutic handling
  • Demonstrate the physical ability to carry out moving of equipment
  • Degree / Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC Registration
  • Evidence of relevant and recent experience working within Acute Wards in NHS services
  • Continued Professional Development Diary including evidence or reflective practice, in service training, specific courses attended and clinical experience gained
  • Broad range of experience at junior level and senior rotations
  • Broader experience and effective caseload management consistently
