Global Healthcare Jobs, a dedicated and award-winning recruitment agency looking for an experienced and dedicated Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse to work in Guernsey on a full-time basis.

The salary for this permanent Senior Staff Nurse job is £43,954 – £59,343 per annum.

Duties:

  • Be responsible for delivering a high standard of care to high dependency and critically ill patients for allocated shifts, liaising with the multidisciplinary team and offering support and advice to patients, relatives and colleagues
  • Deliver individualised patient care based on principles of best practice through developing a theoretical knowledge base for the care of patients with acute physiological needs
  • Act as a role model to less experienced nursing staff and participate in the development of departmental initiatives to enhance High Dependency and Critical Care

Requirements of the Senior Staff Nurse:

  • In depth knowledge of ventilation, sepsis, renal replacement therapy and a thorough understanding of acute cardiac interventions, meeting the National Critical Care Competencies
  • Demonstrate evidence-based practice
  • Communicate effectively with patients/clients and significant others
  • Practising as a nurse or midwife are required to have effective registration with the (UK) Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • Be proactive and cooperative in the appraisal and confirmer processes
  • Critical Care experience
  • Completed National Critical Care Competencies (or equivalent knowledge & skill obtained through experience)
  • Experience co-ordinating care delivery of patient’s with complex care needs / Multi-organ failure
  • Evidence of effective communication skills with particular reference to Multidisciplinary team working, service users, carers and managersb
  • Evidence of self and professional development
