Global Healthcare Jobs, a dedicated and award-winning recruitment agency looking for an experienced and dedicated Occupational Therapist to work in Luton on a full-time basis.
The salary for this permanent Occupational Therapist job is £34,723 – £37,261 per annum.
Duties:
- Receive and co-ordinate referrals, undertake the resulting assessments which will predominantly focus on equipment/adaptations and may also include carers assessments
- Coach and mentor Social Care Assessors and Rehabilitation Officers who are undertaking assessments, support planning and review tasks
- Influence the direction of future services by promoting independence, enablement and rehabilitative models
Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:
- Be able to cover for your line manager on occasion and to also cover for OT’s from other teams if required to do so
- Take a whole person approach to enable a person to achieve their full potential
- Be enthusiastic, adaptable and provide inspirational leadership on risk, quality and safeguarding matters and to promote personalised care pathways ensuring choice and control for all eligible individualBe aware of and actwithin the legal framework for Adult Social Care Practice and will ensure that case recording on the computer system is maintained at a high level
- Substantial post qualifying experience in social/health care field
- Significant experience of collaborative, partnership and inter–agency working
- Experience of the customer interface environment and demonstrable commitment to customer satisfaction including knowledge of the different adult client groups
- Experience of advocacy and user involvement issues including promoting the involvement of people in developing their own care/support plans
- Demonstrable Experience of coaching/ mentoring
- Significant demonstrable Occupational Therapyexperience of working work with complex and challenging cases–with access to support and supervision–where there may be issues of vulnerability and risk and where crisis intervention may be required in compliance with health and safety policies
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalentand hold professional registration
