Occupational Therapist – Care of the Elderly

Global Healthcare Jobs, a dedicated and award-winning recruitment agency looking for an experienced and dedicated Band 6 Elderly Care Occupational Therapist to take on a new locum role.

Location: Belfast

Contract Type: Locum ongoing contract

Pay Rate: £22.11 per hour (assignment rate)

Duties of the Occupational Therapist:

• Work within the Occupational Therapy Unscheduled Care Team on medical and surgical wards as service needs demand, providing focused Occupational Therapy assessments to facilitate timely discharges from acute hospital care.
• Promote the role of Occupational Therapy within the inter-professional team, and ensure that good communication exists with the medical, nursing and other professional staff.
• Manage, supervise and teach more junior therapists, technical instructors, OT assistants and students.
• In conjunction with the Team/Clinical Lead and the Assistant Occupational Therapy Manager to monitor the service provided to patients, continuously striving to develop and improve the quality of service.

Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:

• Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
• Recent UK experience working as an Occupational Therapist
• Recent NHS experience
• Registered with the HCPC
