Global Healthcare Jobs, a dedicated and award-winning recruitment agency looking for an experienced and dedicated Occupational Therapist to work in Guernsey on a full-time basis.
The salary for this permanent Occupational Therapist job is £43,954 – £59.343 per annum.
Main Duties:
- To maintain professional standards and behaviour as specified by the Professional Standards for Occupational Therapy Practice (2007) and in accordance with local policies and legislation.
- To adhere to and apply the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct for Occupational Therapists.
- To work autonomously, managing a defined client group.
- To carry out and record comprehensive assessment and treatment intervention as per legal and professional guidelines and standards and in accordance with local policy
- To formulate and deliver specific Occupational Therapy treatment programmes using evidence based practice and skilled clinical reasoning.
- To work collaboratively with the service user, their carersand the MDT to set agreed realistic goals, actions and outcomes.
- To maintain and develop professional knowledge and be conversant with professional developments, evidencing critical appraisal skills and Continuing Professional Development and sound understanding ofGovernance.To participate in clinical audit as requested.
- To keep up to date with advances in Occupational Therapy to actively promote an understanding of the role ofOccupationalTherapy.
- To participate in staff and service development through attendance at service meetings and in–service training, including taking a lead in facilitating such events and presenting information as appropriate
- To contribute towards the evaluation of the service through audit and the use of outcome measures and in–service research projects. Where appropriate tohave a role inimplementing those which have an occupational therapy element.
- To actively influenceand participate inservice improvements andimprove and maintainquality standards.
- To comply with organisational policies relating to Equal Opportunities, Data Protection and Health and Safety at Work legislation.
- To undertake other appropriate additional duties as required by theA dult Community Learning Disability and Autism team manageror ADS service manager.
- To ensure compliance with the Health and Social Services Department’s Health and Safety Policy and any departmental policy
Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current HCPC registration.
- Evidence of CPD in accordance with HCPC and the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) guidelines.
- Knowledge and experience of community integration, enabling purposeful occupation.
- Knowledge and understanding of application of the Occupational Therapy process, including assessments and interventions relevant to Learning Disability (LD) & Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
- The ability to contribute the specialist skills of an Occupational Therapist to the multi– disciplinary team (MDT).
- Experience working as a Learning Disability & AutismOccupational Therapist.
- Broad knowledge of assessment and treatment approaches inLearning Disability & Autism Occupational Therapy
- Experience incommunityintegration.
- Experience in Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Experience in Sensory Integrationapproaches.
