Location: Shropshire

Contract Type: Locum ongoing contract

Pay Rate: £24 per hour (assignment rate)

Duties of the Occupational Therapist:

  • Independently managing a defined, allocated caseload of complex and highly complex cases using problem solving, reasoning skills and reflective practice
  • Independently undertaking formal assessment of service users with complex and highly complex needs, including people with degenerative conditions, terminal illness and palliative care
  • The post holder as part of a multi-disciplinary team will carry out assessments and reviews. The aim is to maximise the independence of individuals so they can be supported to remain in their own communities for as long as possible. This may result in recommendation of assistive technology, equipment or in some situations adaptations
  • The post holder will be expected to become involved in a range of work to enable the service to respond effectively to the changing requirements of the Council and changes affecting the workforce

Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:

  • Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
  • Recent experience working as an Occupational Therapist
  • Recent NHS experience
  • Registered with the HCPC
