Job Description
Global Healthcare Jobs, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Senior Practitioner within the Fostering Team to work full time based in Lydd, Kent.
The salary for this permanent Senior Practitioner job is up to £44,000 per annum.
Main duties:
- Maintain records of placements, i.e. case recording, placement agreements, assessment reports, carer reviews, carers supervision and child progress reports.
- Attend and participate in childcare reviews, case conferences and other meetings as appropriate.
- Liaise with the managers regarding referrals, matching considerations and meetings and carry out negotiations between Credo Care and placing authorities with respect to the placement of children and take a lead on the placement of children with foster carers you supervise.
- Undertake screening calls, initial home visit to prospective foster carers.
- Take part in the emergency out of hours service.
- To chair social work meetings in the absence of the Regional Manager.
- Attend social work meetings on a regular basis to share information regarding children in placement.
- Support the Regional Managers and Directors in leading practice and work on quality improvements and specific projects.
- Ensure that the child’s care plan is caried out in accordance with the requirements of the placing authority and in consultation with the child’s social workers, foster carers, parents, etc, as necessary.
- Undertaking training as and when required.
- Maintain a professional image and standard of presentation, both personally and corporately.
- Work at all times in accordance with Credo Care’s policies, procedures and ethos and under the guidance of regulatory framework, including the National Minimum Standards.
- Undertake any other duties at the request of your line manager or directors, dependent on the postholder’s areas of expertise, knowledge and skills and with regard to the level of responsibility afford by the post held.
Requirements of this Senior Practitioner job:
- Social work qualification with registration with Social Work England.
- Experience in managing social work caseloads and supervising others.
- Experience of community and/or group work.
- Knowledge of children’s health and social care systems, agencies, and relevant legislation.
