Global Healthcare Jobs, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Senior Practitioner within the Integrated Discharge Team to work full time based in Enfield.

The salary for this permanent Senior Practitioner  job is up to £47,805 per annum.

Main duties:

  • Provide professional guidance and support to social work staff supporting the delivery of high-quality customer focused services (strengths based practice).
  • To be one of the designated practice teachers for the operational team, ensuring that all qualified social workers maintain their registration status through recorded on-going professional developments.
  • Assist in gathering information for the purpose of responding to customer complaints and Ombudsman’s Enquiries.
  • Carry out joint visits with supervisees and other staff where appropriate.
  • Ensure the allocation of work for those supervised.
  • Attendance at, and participation in, meetings, case conferences etc. as directed.
  • Contribute to training programmes and provide training and development opportunities for staff.
  • Contribute to the management and development of specific areas of service, including improvements in delivery, determination of priorities, service team plans, and implementation of new practice initiatives.
  • Participate in the recruitment of staff in accordance with Departmental policy and to the review if staff training and development plans.
  • Take responsibility for mentoring/consultation to team members which may include students on placement.
  • Provide guidance, support and direction in workload management, undertake performance appraisals where appropriate and co-ordinate induction programmes for new staff.
  • Undertake a quality assurance role for the service, identifying problem areas and recommending solutions, ensuring that assessments and care plans meet the needs of service users.
  • Implement the Safeguarding Adults policy & procedure and manage staff through the process, including chairing (Enquiry Outcomes Meetings) complex strategy meetings.
  • Participate in the development and management of systems associated with team functions, including gathering and analysing of information.
  • Take responsibility for entering information and data onto the online systems relating to own cases.
  • Work jointly with the Administrative Officer, seeking to improve the knowledge and practical applications of the systems amongst frontline operational staff.
  • Assist with development of the service, briefing colleagues in new procedures and different methods/approaches.
  • Actively encourage customer participation in the delivery, monitoring and evaluation of the service.
  • Initiate research, recommend best practice and implement changes in policy within a specialist area of service and participate in service development, briefing colleagues in new procedures and different methods/approaches.
  • Undertake complex assessments and care planning.

Requirements of this role:

  • Social work qualification with registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience in managing social work caseloads and supervising others.
  • Experience of community and/or group work.
  •  Knowledge of children’s health and social care systems, agencies, and relevant legislation.
