Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on complex cases, offering supervision and guidance to less experienced colleagues.

  • Carry out detailed assessments of children and families, ensuring they receive appropriate interventions and support.

  • Formulate, implement, and regularly review care and safeguarding plans that are child-focused and outcome-driven.

  • Collaborate with a wide range of professionals including education, health, police, and voluntary services to deliver joined-up support.

  • Uphold statutory responsibilities under the Children Act, safeguarding frameworks, and local procedures.

  • Represent the Trust at meetings, court proceedings, and multi-agency panels where necessary.


Essential Criteria

  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.

  • Significant post-qualification experience in statutory children’s services.

  • Strong understanding of child protection, looked after children, and relevant legislation and frameworks.

  • Proven ability to manage complex cases independently.

  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
