Global Healthcare Jobs, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Senior Social Worker/Senior Practitioner within the Mental Health Team to work Full Time based in Kensington.

The salary for this permanent Senior Social Worker/Senior Practitioner job is up to £56,565per annum.

Main duties:

  • The Senior Social Worker will supervise and support the social work staff and take the lead on the social work and local authority agenda in their team. They will play a key role in the Multi-disciplinary team meetings in ensuring that the Care Act and core statutory duties are delivered. Along with other professionals, they will oversee the screening, triage, and duty service, and will carry a reduced longer term complex caseload.
  • To participate and undertake standard audits of social work practice within the team. To support the role of the Team Manager in embedding professional standards of social work practice and quality assurance.
  • To manage few safeguarding adults enquiries in the team, accessing training as required in line with Local Safeguarding policies. To identify Child Protection issues and to implement procedures as require.
  • To carry a small caseload including complex assessments, court proceedings and joint work.
  • Attend regular supervision and appraisal with the team manager and be responsible for own Continuous Personal Development.
  • Accountable for reviewing the key performance indicators monthly and taking appropriate action to manage areas of concern in a proactive and timely way.
  • Accountable for developing a workforce competent to meet service needs through recruitment, retention, training and development and performance management.
  • Accountable for any other tasks and responsibilities as requested by the Service Manager to deliver the Local Authorities and Social Services responsibilities and those appropriate to the post.
  • Provide supervision and the assessor role for newly qualified social workers on the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment. To work in accordance with the Bi-borough ASYE policy. To undertake ASYE Assessor training and keep skills and knowledge up to date.
  • Provide supervision and mentoring for staff undertaking the Social Work Apprenticeship and or other relevant apprenticeship course.
  • Work alongside the ASC Learning and Development Team to plan and provide relevant learning and development interventions to meet individual, team, and service needs. To ensure staff receive regular and consistent supervision of their practice.
  • This is to also include ensuring that individual learning needs of staff are met, through both core and mandatory training, and Continuing Professional Development.

Requirements of this Senior Social Worker/Senior Practitioner role:

  • A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registered or eligible for registration.
