Global Healthcare Jobs, a dedicated and award-winning recruitment agency has an exciting Locum opportunity available for an experienced Social Work Deputy Team Manager to join a well-established Children’s service based in Woolwich. The role is hybrid working and the practice leader would be expected to be in the office at least 3 days a week and full week when the team is on duty.

Pay Rate: £40 per hour (assignment rate)
Contract: Locum, 3-Months
Hours: Full-time

Duties:
- Provide day to day direction to and co-ordination of staff working in the Assessment and Support Teams
- Provide increased managerial oversight on cases to ensure allocations and statutory assessments are both timely and proportionate to identified risk
- Assist with the operational management of the team and take forward the implementation of new initiatives alongside the Team Leader
- Support the Team Leader in ensuring that the core functions of the team operate to a good quality and are effective in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Allocate work, agree targets, monitor and implement training programmes and generally develop and motivate staff to perform effectively
- Set standards and priorities for the team, promoting quality management standards and the effective implementation and monitoring of standards, policies and procedures
- Provide supervision and take line management responsibility for up to 2 qualified social workers
Requirements of the Deputy Team Manager:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant frontline experience in Children’s Services
