Global Healthcare Jobs, a dedicated and award-winning recruitment agency looking for an experienced and dedicated Sonographer to work in Aberdeenshire on a full-time basis.
The salary for this permanent Sonographer job is £35,000 – £48,000 per annum.

Main Duties:
- Maintain patient records, update administrative records, and add relevant medical notes relating to the ultrasound or X-Ray procedure, including PACS and RIS systems
- Liaise with the wider team and patients as necessary over appointments, booking, results or follow up appointments, ensuring that any change in task delivery is approved by management and internal policies are updated to reflect the changes
- Managing Patient Flows and Workflows; ensuring that changes in work practices are documented in a procedure and approved by line management
- Ensuring patients arriving in the Imaging Department are well catered for, and all relevant forms and pre-test checks have been carried out
- Work with Clinical Engineering to schedule and oversee preventative maintenance on imaging systems to ensure all instrumentation is safe and in good working condition.
- Work with RPAs, Medical Physicists and Electronic Technicians to resolve equipment malfunctions and to ensure that all regulatory requirements regarding equipment performance are met.
- Undertake other duties as may reasonably be required in line with your skills, knowledge, abilities, and personal development opportunities.
- Maintain ultrasound and X-Ray equipment ensuring the room is appropriately cleaned following each procedure
- Undertaking routine checks and arranging planned or emergency maintenance schedules
Requirements of the Sonographer:
- HCPC Registration
- Knowledge of the application of different imaging procedures and how images are appropriately shared and stored
- Ability to build and sustain professional relationships
- Ability to deliver optimum patient care
- Good understanding and experience in RIS and PACS systems
- Experience and qualifications in ultrasound reporting
- Highly motivated and patient driven with excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage own workload and work independently
- Must be competent and experienced as a minimum in undertaking abdominal, pelvic, gynae, KUB, obstetric ultrasounds (early pregnancy).
