GHJ, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Specialist Safeguarding Practitioner within the Adult Safeguarding Team to work fulltime based in Guernsey.
The salary for this permanent Specialist Safeguarding Practitioner job is up to £78,085 per annum.
Main duties:
- Undertake the functions of Adult Safeguarding including, duty to inquire and safeguarding investigations ensuring practice encompasses Making Safeguarding Personal.
- Undertake capacity assessments for individuals where there are concerns relating to their capacity in respect to safeguarding.
- Work alongside other members of the Adult Safeguarding Team, supporting the Associate Director of Community Health and Social Care, to achieve the best practice in enabling employees to fulfil their roles and statutory safeguarding responsibilities.
- Provide advice and support for employees who are involved in police investigations and court proceedings, including support with report writing.
- Establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with colleagues within health including external agencies ensuring smooth communication processes.
- Produce reports and presentations as required and requested by the Head of Adult Safeguarding.
- Establish and maintain communication with multi-agency groups and individuals working on complex and sensitive issues in a range of inter and multi-agency settings.
- Encourage staff to identify adults who may be at risk, encouraging the use of reflection and supervision to improve processes and practice.
- Provide specialist safeguarding supervision and support to staff in managing sensitive and distressing situations, involving complex and emotive issues in relation to adult safeguarding.
- Liaise with practitioners to obtain relevant information, advising where necessary, challenging decisions when appropriate and implement agreed actions.
- Collaborate with the Head of Adult Safeguarding in the setting, monitoring, and auditing of standards for safeguarding adult at risk.
- To identify and participate in any opportunities for research and development within the safeguarding agenda.
- Demonstrate well developed analytical and judgemental skills to understand highly complex information.
Requirements of this Specialist Safeguarding Practitioner Job.
- Degree or equivalent in Social Work.
- Registered as Social Worker.
- Understanding of the SW legislation.
