Requirements of the Speech and Language Therapist/SLT:
- Degree or equivalent within Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC registration
- Recent post qualifying experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist
Thr role of the Speech and Language Therapist/SLT:
- CNS Specialist Speech and Language Therapist required to work within the Community Neuro Service multi-disciplinary team based in East Ham, Newham
- Post holder will be required to independently manage a large and complex caseload of patients with stroke, TBI and other neurological conditions including MND, MS, HD
- Patients are seen at home, in clinic and other appropriate community settings
- Post holder is required to work 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday
- Ability to commute around the borough is essential, however, driving licence or access to car is not necessary.
- Post holder needs to be competent in dysphagia management and have experience of working with a neurological caseload, ideally in a community setting
- The post holder may need to support the Adult Speech and Language Therapy Team that provides input to adults over 16 with acquired communication and / or swallowing difficulties secondary to a wide range of physical, respiratory and mental health conditions
