Pay Rate: ÂŁ25 – ÂŁ31 per hour (assignment rate)

Duties of the Speech and Language Therapist/SLT:

 

  • You will have a split caseload providing the following
  • Management of patients with acquired dysphagia and communication impairments secondary to a diagnosis of Head & Neck Cancer at the North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust, which provides services at a secondary care level. This will mainly include patients receiving outpatient radiotherapy/chemotherapy, including some post-surgical and laryngectomy patients
  • Management of adults with complex acquired dysphagia and communication disorders including tracheostomy management in a fast- paced acute setting
  • Support the introduction of FEES service through training and upskilling of SLT team and establishment of regular weekly FEES clinic
  • Supervision of junior SLTs and students

Requirements of the Speech and Language Therapist/SLT:

  • Degree or equivalent within Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC registration
  • Recent post qualifying experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist
