Job Description
Global Healthcare Jobs, a dedicated and award-winning recruitment agency looking for an experienced and dedicated Speech & Language Therapist (SLT) to work in Watford on a part-time basis (16-24 hours, we can offer flexibility).
The salary for this permanent SLT job is £42,000 – £46,000 per annum.
Duties:
- Training other therapists and professionals working with people with CP is an important part of what we do
- Assist other members of the therapy team with demonstrations and clinical observations at the level of basic paediatric and introductory courses and courses & webinars for non-therapy staff
- Eventually undertake tutor training with view of being able to teach on our courses nationally and internationally over time
- Undertake the collection of data for service audit or research projects and you will be expected to contribute to these
Requirements of the SLT:
- Have excellent communication skills, be able to demonstrate empathy and show understanding of the complex nature of living with CP across the life course, both for the service user and their families
- Be able to attend and lead case discussions and tutorials, and be responsible for maintaining your competency through CPD activities
- A therapist who loves working in a team, who enjoys hands-on therapy and training others and who wants to grow into becoming an expert in CP
- Recognised ProfessionalQualification/Degree or equivalent inSpeech and Language Therapy
- Health Professions Council registration
- Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
- Advanced dysphagia training
- Variety of courses relevant to paediatrics
- Experience of working with children with cerebral palsy
- Experience of working without direct supervision
- Experience in general paediatrics
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Experience of leading inservice training for colleagues
- AAC course
