Global Healthcare Jobs, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Team Manager within the Child Protection Team to work full time based in Guernsey.
The salary for this permanent Team Manager job is up to £74,269per annum.
Main duties:
- To ensure that all Looked After Children’s needs are being met in line with the responsibility of the State of Guernsey’s Corporate Parenting role.
- To be responsible for the organisation, planning and support of the professional activities of team members ensuring that the service objectives are met.
- To ensure work is carried out in accordance with the relevant legislation, policy, guidance and accepted good practice. A key feature of the post will involve improving outcomes for children and young people and being able to demonstrate this within a quality framework.
- To provide line management and professional supervision to the Social Care Professionals within the LAC, ensuring effective management of workloads, appropriate allocation of resources and maintenance of standards of performance.
- Provide guidance to team members on a day to day basis on the management of individual cases and ensure accurate recording and evidence based decision making.
- To implement ongoing performance and development activities so that practitioners are able to provide a good and improving quality of service both on individual and team basis.
- To work in conjunction with colleagues, internal and external to the Directorate, to monitor, evaluate and develop the quality of the services provided and ensure that systems are in place for enabling both staff and service users to make meaningful contributions to the development of the services.
- Undertaking assessments of Looked After Children and Care Leavers and ensuring that Care Plans, Pathway Plans, review documents and other LAC material forms are completed.
- Undertaking Child Protection Investigations for Looked After Children in line with policy and procedures.
- Undertaking and overseeing Court Reports for the Adoption and the Child, Youth and Community Tribunal process in line with policy and procedures.
Requirements of this Team Manager job:
- CQSW, DipSW, BA Social Work of equivalent professional qualification.
- Past Management qualification and experience
- At least 1 years’ experience of supervising professional staff.
- Knowledge of relevant childcare legislation.
- Ability to travel independently to all required areas by the job’s responsibilities.
