Global Healthcare Jobs, a dedicated and award-winning recruitment agency looking for an experienced and dedicated Community Mental Health Nurse to take on a new ongoing contract role.

Community Mental Health Nurse Pay Rate: £26 per hour (assignment rate)

Location: Bethlem Royal Hospital Beckenham, London

Contract Type: Locum 3 month contract

Working Pattern: Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm

Duties of the Community Mental Health Nurse:

  • Supporting service users who have been / are known to the criminal justice system, and have spent 5+ more years in an inpatient setting.  They may have experienced difficult discharges in the past necessitating intensive support from the team to reduce this risk.
  • Assessing inpatient service users referred into the team for caseload suitability.
  • Case management that includes routine reviews of patient mental state, risk assessment, risk management planning, care plans, physical health screens.
  • Candidates will also be required to administer depot medication.
  • Liaise with various stake holders including carers / relatives, supported housing providers, Jigsaw Team, National Probation Service, Police , MAPPA, Housing Services, Inpatient services, Social Services and other outpatient services.
  • Attend CPA reviews, tribunals, associate managers hearings, inpatient discharge planning meetings  / ward rounds.
  • Complete quarterly MOJ reports and send referral forms and safeguarding referrals to Social Work Team when required.

Requirements of the Community Mental Health Nurse:

  • Degree or equivalent in Mental Health Nursing
  • Experience working as a Community Psychiatric Nurse
  • NMC Registration
  • Experience working in an NHS setting
  • Familiar with EPJS (SLAM’s patient journey system).
