Global Healthcare Jobs, a dedicated and award-winning recruitment agency looking for an experienced and dedicated Band 6 Senior Neonatal Staff Nurse to work in Castel on a full-time basis.
The salary for this permanent Senior Neonatal Staff Nurse job is £41,544 – £56,090 per annum.
Duties:
- Take a lead in an agreed area of neonatal care and facilitate this in the service development
- Act as a resource and supervisor to all staff working within the area
- Act as a mentor/preceptor/supervisor to students and other learners
- Promote an environment that is conducive to quality learning and assessment
- Maintain own continuing professional development needs in education, research, clinic and leadership skills
- Develop and maintain competence in the additional skills related to the needs of the children, particularly those with differing need
- Undertake air transfer training and participate in off island transfers as required following a period of training and consolidation
Requirements of the Senior Neonatal Staff Nurse:
- Have the experience and confidence to work without supervision in the Neonatal Unit
- Be able to attend deliveries and initiate resuscitation and assist the medical team
- Have the expertise to care for every level of the sick neonate, at times as a lone worker
- Be able to support junior staff and parents
- Following training, they must be willing to undertake as necessary, air transfers and maintain skills by attending off-island placements
