GHJ, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Responsible Individual to work Full Time for KindNest Health, based in Twyford.
The salary for this Responsible Individual job is up to £70,000 per annum.
Main duties:
- Lead and oversee the OFSTED registration process for a new children’s residential home.
- Act as the link between the organisation and OFSTED, ensuring transparency, compliance, and accountability.
- Provide strategic oversight and quality assurance across the home to ensure excellent care and safeguarding practices.
- Support and supervise the Registered Manager, ensuring robust leadership, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure that the service is operated in accordance with all relevant legislation, including OFSTED regulations and the Children Act 1989.
- Champion the rights, voice, and welfare of the children and young people in placement.
- Monitor and evaluate service performance through audits, reviews, and data analysis.
- Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and service development plans.
- Liaise with authorities, social workers, commissioners, and other stakeholders to maintain positive relationships and promote the service.
- Ensure policies, procedures, and documentation are up to date, effective, and reflect the ethos of the organisation.
- Champion the rights, voice, and participation of children in line with child-centred, therapeutic approaches.
- Ensure staff recruitment, training, and development meet regulatory requirements and reflect best practice in trauma-informed care.
Requirements of this Responsible Individual job:
- Proven experience as a Responsible Individual or senior operational leader within children’s residential care.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
- Strong understanding of EBD, trauma-informed practice, and the complex needs of children in care.
- Demonstrable experience in successfully registering a new children’s home with Ofsted.
- In-depth knowledge of the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and the Ofsted Inspection Framework.
- Experience in overseeing safeguarding, compliance, and operational effectiveness across children’s services.
- Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management (or willingness to work towards), or a relevant social work or care management qualification.
